Parasite Screening

We have two methods for screening for disease and infections from parasites

Fecal Screening - for Dogs & Cats

The Fecal Screening – Intestinal Parasite Test is an important diagnostic tool used to assess your pet’s gastrointestinal health. It detects common intestinal parasites, including hookworms, whipworms, tapeworms, roundworms, and coccidia. A small stool sample collected within the past 24 hours is required. You can drop this off without bringing in your pet. Stool can be placed in a sealed Ziplock bag or plastic container.

Blood Test – for Dogs Only

One simple blood test checks your dog for:

  • Heartworm disease

  • Lyme disease

  • Ehrlichiosis: This test is especially important for dogs that have not been consistently on heartworm preventive medication. It is often required or strongly recommended as part of heartworm screening before starting or restarting preventive treatment.
